BAS Service Provider (BSP)
A BAS Service Provider needs to be approved by the ATO to prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) on behalf of their clients.
The current legislation Section 251L of the Income Tax Assessment Act (1936) prohibits anyone, including bookkeepers, from providing a BAS Service unless they are a Registered Tax Agent or Working under the Direction of a Registered Tax Agent.
